Half Life 1 vs Half Life 2
 

Many people say half life 1 was better than half life 2. Some say the exact opposite. What do you guys have to say ? Which is better ?

If you had to push me I'd say Half Life 1 - at least that was innovative-ish.

I didn't really like either that much though - they're both far too over-rated IMO. Half life 2 is the worst of the two though - theres more to a game than graphics and malleable terrain.

Half Life was a groundbreaking game, and changed the FPS genre forever. Although it looks blocky now, it was a fantastic tribute to the power of 3D graphics in its time. The gameplay was unique and immersive, and there was adequate challenge and diversity to keep things interesting.

Although Half Life 2 looks fantastic and is by no means a bad game, it didn't quite have the same effect as its former, plus it didn't spawn Counter-Strike ;)

half life 2 could never have been better then its original. the original had something magical about it. maybe it was back mesa, maybe it was the story. half life 2 could never top that.

half life 1 was much more fun to play, and i cant wait for Black Mesa (hl2 mod thats recreating everything in hl1 on the source engine).

yeah the story and the whole areas and what not, that was so much better than hl2, i would like to see the outcome of hl3, but it seems they're dragging out hl2 when it's really quite shit, episode 1 eat your heart out

half life 1 is best but half life 2 is better then other

I choose Half Life 2 since it was the one I played first, I can see Half Life is an awesome game, but it just feels odd playing it after HL2. I had the same problem with trying out FFVII after playing FFX first.

yup guys, half life 1 is very interesting game, I love to play it.

Half life 2 is very interesting game, I really love to play it, However, half life 1 is no more interesting game. (This is my personal opinion-:p)

Half life one rocks! I didn't care much for part two. Love Call of duty WAW!

I prefer half life 1. It seems to be more interesting than the version 2. The total effects and special moves made it much attractive to the gamers. On the other hand the Half Life 2 seems to me clumsy. So, overall Half Life 1 is a great game indeed.

Half life 1, deffinately better!

Half-Life 1 was a great game. So great its ranked right there with Doom. the game play was solid, the maps were well designed,,, it was just a great game.

Half-Life 2 was a good game, but not in the "great" status like what HL1 is. HL2 has really good graphics, good physics because of the source engine, but its just too short. It feels like HL2 is a fraction of the length that HL1 was.

Well for me i want to say that the first half of life is much better than the 2nd half of life.

Half life 1 it was the first computer game i played, Plus the added bonus of Counter Strike i had a keyboard just for playing CS still have the game and i think the steam account it has been several years since i touched that game.

Now its all COD

Half life 1 had the best plot in the series, so hl1 all the way!!!!!!

according to me half life 1 as part 2 are always advance versions so the real excitement always lies in part 1
