Default Home Server Security

I am wandering about how I could make a secure home web server. What security software and general security task would I need to carry out?

Linux security is such a broad term. I could make a 10 page report on how to secure a Linux box. The first thing I would do is run yum and get all of the updates. Then I would have a look www.eth0.us and decide what security guides you want to apply to your server. You can get as secure as you want to get.

What else do you want to know? If you follow the guides in www.eth0.us, your going to have your server on lock down.
