I used to post around once a month. Back when I first got into forums, I would only post a question and wait for an answer. Since the forums I joined were computer related, I would wait until I had computer problems. Recently, I got into a few of them and then I started my own. Now I have the forums that I visit regularly, but I still only post a few times a day. Never more than 10. On some of the busier forums, I can post and then later come back an reply to the new ones, but then the bigger forums usually have some stupid people that spam, so I tend spend a lot of time on them.

I think the most ever was 50 or so a day. It was during a posting contest where I was far out of the lead, but the top 4 guys were posts 100-200+ a day. There were several threads to reply to. Even though I didn't have a chance at winning (I was in 5th place, but down my several hundred), I still posted to see who would win. When it got to the end, there were so many threads being created and replied to that it was too hard to keep up. Plus, most of them were stupid, like "XBox Live is cool, but expensive. I will have to wait to get one". After that, I quit going to that forum. I am more likely to read through the forum than post a million times.
