DSL router for linux
I need a DSL router to run off my server.
It would also need to have an inbuilt firewall (I believe most do).
Which brands/models should I look at and what works best with Linux?

Just about any off the shelf router purchased at you local electronics store should do the trick just fine. Pretty much all contain a firewall due to the nature of NAT (Network Address Translation). I would personally recommend Linksys, although DLink also makes a fairly decent router from what I've heard. I would stay away from Netgear, most of their residential routers do NOT support loopback. Without loopback support you will not be able to get to your website's internally using an external domain/IP.
To give you any model recommendations, I need to know whether you need wireless or not. Also, what brand/model is your current DSL modem? Just wondering since most DSL modems these days comes with a built-in router (NAT).

I have a Netopia and it is very stable!
I love Linksys WRT54Gs', but I don't like them for routers. The Netopia is very stable. I may use a WRT54G somewhere, but not where a server will need to have a rock steady connection.

I use DLink and im very satified with it i'm looking into getting a linkseys to try or anything else does anyone have advice on what to try or should i just keep running off what i have

If it works for you, stick with it! The Linksys WRT54G is a very popular router for its ability to run 3rd party firmware on it. For more information on the router and firmware available, check out www.linksysinfo.org.

I like Netgear routers. They have a good admin interface and are very easy to configure.
I tried a D Link once but didnt like the interface at all so I sold it straight away.

I use Linksys also for my router, I believe it's very reliable. I recommend it but I have't tried many others.
