Bird, suspected to be Extinct, was Photographed then Eaten!
Someone in the Philippines found a bird that was suspected to be extinct... so it was photographed, then sold as food at a poultry market!

I'm not against eating poultry, but not when it may be one of the last of its kind.

Not surprising at all.
Remember in the Philippines they have this famous dish which is an egg; except instead of egg yoke, the chick is half hatched. Ever seen those?
So for people who eat half-hatched chicks still in the egg, what is the issue to eat a full grown instinct chicken??

Really? That's shocking to us, I guess from our cultural perspective.
But on the other hand, what could they have done with the bird if it was the last one anyway? It wouldn't be able to reproduce...and there would be controversy over trying to clone it. I guess the best that could have been done was intensive study during and after its life. At that stage in evolution, there is really not much you can do, unfortunately.
