bcdphie is from Canada. She might not know that the US doesn't have an official language as we do here (English and French).
Geez, I want GC back. It's so hard to remember some people without being able to search what they've posted. Makes sense though. Although we have had several conversations about English being the de facto, not the official language of the US.
This sounds like it's strictly for publicity against Pat's. He even says that if a tourist comes in they're happy to help them order in English. Having been in food service, I certainly wouldn't want to assume what someone wants if I can't understand what they're saying.
