Do you do it during thunderstorms?
Surf the internet?
I shut off my computer once I hear thunder. I have had lightning mess around with my computer/surger before, it's pretty scary.

I surf the internet all the time. And my surge protector just went kaputt and I have not replaced it yet. If it is not raining tomorrow, I will swing by Circuit City to buy another one.

Because I'm in a basement, I almost never hear the storm. But if I'm aware of it, I will shut the computer down.

I try to shut down if I see lightning. Doesn't always happen though.
I wish I could shut down my work computer when it storms.

I'm with Sister Havana. I'll surf as long as I don't see lightning. We make the girls get off line then as well, and they're never happy about it. It's hard to keep a straight face when your 15 year old tells you you're ruining her life by not allowing her on facebook. Ah, the joys of step-parenthood.

If lightening hits your house, most surge protectors (if any) won't save your computer whether you're online, have it turned off, etc. You have to totally unplug any appliance to keep it truly safe.

All of the power and phone lines are burried for miles around here. It isn't that there couldn't be a surge big enough to wreck a computer, but I don't worry about it too much. That big a hit would take out a lot of other stuff, too.

Making love when it is raining is the best. But sometimes you just want it rough, and going gentle can get a little old Sigh
