I guess this is a big surprize for the weather folks. Reports this morning said they didn't expect Alberto to reach hurricane strength.
Be safe, everyone.

OMG. Not another hurricane, dangit. I live in Tampa, which is a couple hours south of Cedar Key. But my folks are in Gainesville.
I am off from work tomorrow anyway. But Wednesday I have major programs going on. OK, so I did get to perform them last week as well, so I should not complain.
Glad I pumped a full tank of gas today.
I'm not even sure if to go to yoga tonight. I need to buy food at the supermarket just in case.

My brother in law and sister in law have a 2nd house in Cedar Key/Chiefland. It was their primary house until about 2 years ago, they moved to Ga.
The house is on stilts and in a little cove about 500 yards from the mouth of the real Suwanee River.

Man, they have just changed the forcast to Hurrican Strength!
Get going people, get the hell out!
Amazing it is now named for an Espinola, is it Polotics?
They say it may help to give much needed releif for dry dry areas!
Trying to figure this one out!
Saying it will be on the Nothern Gulf Coast.
Heads up or down Our Fl. Bro/Sis!S

The rain sure helps.
The winds do not.

Actually, I've lived in Florida all my life and I've never really worried about hurricanes too much. They are hyping stuff WAY too much this year. When Alberto was a tropical storm the local news (and I'm in Miami which is out of the way) it was all they could talk about. It's stupid because school isn't even canceled for Tropical Storms. I've walked home from the bus stop in downpours (whether a regular FL thunderstorm or a Tropical Storm) there really isn't much difference to me. Because of last year everyone is just hyping it up more than they used to. Hurricanes are dangerous yes, but it's only once in a while we have an Andrew or a Katrina (Thank God!)
