When I was starting out... I bought my first couple of website through someone on eLance.

After that I used the sites as the starting points for other sites that I made.

Now I make my own html sites... I still hire out when I need programming though.

I wish I could make my own, would be decent source of income for me, same goes for any web design really. If I was doing a website though I'd probably buy one, or learn how to make it myself.

I've been making templates for a while now, although I've never really liked the results that I've gotten. It could be profitable to make layouts for money, but I've yet to try.

I make my own. I'm not fond of buying something when I can do it myself. Besides, I don't own any websites.

Definitely buy. It's not worth the time I spend to make a very unprofessional design . I'd rather just spend the few bux to purchase one.

Well it depends how much time you have on your hands. I personally don't have enough time to do all that work.

Well, since I am a freelance designer I will, of course, go with making my own template.
