im not sure where this should go so i just put it in one of the sections
Ive seen alot of small companies offering very cheep hosting and i was woundering if it was worth it.
Look at this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-Years-pre-pa...QQcmdZViewItem
Its a little more than $7 a year.

YOu should be cautious if considering really cheap hosting. Sometimes these hosting plans offer low amounts of bandwidth and disk space as well as fewer features. In addition, some cheap hosting plans are not as reliable as other services and the customer support can be poor. This of course is not always the case. I have heard of people who have had very low cost hosting that was actually rather good.

I agree with kconnections. You should be cautious and you should do your research well. I know a guy who used a cheap hosting service and ended up loosing member data.

Hm...
I wouldn't really prefer to purchase hosting via Ebay...I am not sure if they can provide you with any type of technical support...or anything...even if it's cheap...I wouldn't go with them...
Anyways, when you look at cheap hosting and reasonable priced hosting...it really depends upon the quality of the site and the testimonials...try webhosting talk sites...ask questions...do some reasearch
WebHostingTalk.Com is a nice site to discuss about hosting.

I dont think that the cheap hosting mostly provide bad service but you have to be little bit cautious in choosing such a host because some hosts are running by small kids and to make some quick money they offer very cheap hosting and do not care about the customer needs.

I bought several hosting accounts of eBay. Usually you aren't buying it from the sever owner, but someone with either a VPS account or some type of reseller account. They might have no idea what they are doing, but they can usually forward your question to who they are getting the hosting from to get you an answer.
The problem I have is that some of them have no idea how to run the server. I bought hosting about 4 different times that after I got everything set up, they shut down. Some offered the lame unlimited everything deal and shortly ran out of something. Other's make up stupid rules as they go along to kick people off their servers to make a little bit of money (they kick you off before the time you paid for is up).
One person I bought hosting from lost my payment information, so they deleted my account. After complaining for a week, everything of theirs, their site, their auctions, everything, were gone.
I have bought some good hosting from there, though. One of them was good, but not enough space as I needed and they honored their money back guarantee. Another one I am still using because of their quick support and service. It basically depends on who you are getting it from, but just because it's on eBay and relatively cheap doesn't mean it's going to be bad. You just have to be careful and know who you are buying it from.

I prefer to buy off a company with a long track record and lots of independant reviews on various hosting review sites. I would be very concerned about buying from eBay unless the seller had lots of positive feedback from people who had bought hosting (not just a ton of positives from cheap ebook auctions or something).
I prefer to pay a little more to get good uptime and support.
