Advantage of Dedicated Hosting
Security of your site is prime reason to look at dedicated hosting. In a shared environment, there is always the possibility that someone else with a website on your server will find a way to crack into your account, exposing your company and your client data. This can be a major concern for companies that store customer credit card numbers in databases that reside on the server.
Cost effectiveness is another important aspect of dedicated hosting. Instead of having to pay for costly add-ons, additional disk space and bandwidth, you can usually find a dedicated hosting plan that offers these features for less money than you would have to pay by adding on extras.

hmmmmmm....does this also affect SEO efforts in a positive way? There are some that think your "neighborhood" or who you share a hosting server with (i.e. spammers) can negatively affect SEO. If you were to have a dedicated server, I would think that would negate that (if it's true that is..)

Getting a dedicated web hosting server may be the right option if shared hosting don't have enough disk space, transfer, CPU and features you need. One of the biggest advantages of dedicated web hosting is that you have the whole server to yourself with plenty of data transfer limits.

You made it up. Security is not something that would make one to stop using a virtual hosting (Shared Account) and to get a dedicated, physical box or a VM. It is about resource usage and about custom-built IT hosting environment.

A dedicated server allows a client the flexibility of customizing the server to the clients unique needs for CPU, RAM, disk space and software. With shared hosting, a customer is limited to the applications, software and operating environment already loaded on the server. They may either offer software a client doesn’t need or lack things that they do.
A dedicated server allows organizations a customizable server environment that fits their needs. They can choose the platform and software they really need, allowing more control over how their dedicated server is configured.
